The nation’s best amateur skateboarders will come together to compete in the Zumiez Best Foot Forward Finals in Detroit, MI. It all goes down from 2-10PM on Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 220 Bagley Ave. The Michigan Theatre will come alive with mind blowing skateboarding on a custom built skate course as well as live performances by Odd Future Records’ Trash Talk, and Detroit’s own punk rock legends DEATH, sponsored by Converse.
The Zumiez Best Foot Forward crew has spent the last 4 months crisscrossing America, hosting free contests at some of the best skateparks in the country. Zumiez is providing the winners from each of those stops an all-expense paid trip to the Motor City for the final showdown, where those 37 skaters will compete for a shot at a Bones sponsorship, cash prizes, and a cross country exposure trip for the top 3 to shoot footage at the best street spots and private parks on the planet.
After spending the summer celebrating classic Americana, Zumiez Best Foot Forward is invading the historic Michigan Building, one of the most storied venues in US History and the birthplace of the American road trip. It is the site of Henry Ford’s first auto shop, and was a premiere event space since the 1920’s. The building has lain dormant for nearly 40 years, until now. Admission is free but space is limited, get there early and witness history in the making!
