Finals with Taylor Ballard

Sep 29th, 2016 / Posted By: Sarah Samuth

Meet Taylor, an up and coming skateboard photographer we invited out to Finals last weekend.

My name is Taylor Ballard, i'm a skateboarder/photographer from Edmonds, Wa. I have been skateboarding for a little over thirteen years now. Skateboarding is what originally sparked my interest in photography and other forms of art. Both skateboarding and photograph have taught me a lot about people and how the world works. Like skateboarding photography feels limitless. There are always new places to explore, or different ways to capture things you see everyday; the same way there are always new things to skate or new tricks to learn on things you have skated a million times.

Having photography as another creative outlet over the past few years has been really rad. It gives me something to do when I can't skate and has helped give me some sort of direction and idea of what I want to do with my life. Having the opportunity to shoot the best foot forward finals this last weekend was really cool. It gave me an opportunity to meet some new people and watch some amazing skateboarding go down, all while capturing some unique moments throughout the day. The combination of having a camera and a skateboard in my life has given me some really unique opportunities that wouldn't have been possible without them. Wherever I end up, and whatever I end up doing I always plan on keeping a camera and a skateboard close by.
